Halsey, Oregon, is a community of about 1,000 individuals located in the mid-Willamette Valley. Halsey was first settled in 1872, and the city was incorporated in 1876. It is named after a vice-president of the Oregon and California Railroad, William L. Halsey. Much of downtown Halsey was burned in 1903 when a fire broke out at the J. L. Creamery.
